How to make a success of your garage sale? The Office tells you everything! Tips & Tricks
One of the most anticipated events of the year: the 2022 Braderie des commerçants in the streets of Saint-Tropez! Which sounds the death knell of the high season. A curtain raiser that attracts, for a weekend, tens of thousands of visitors and bargain hunters.
To make your life easier, the Office tells you everything, without forgetting some advice for the big day.
When all the shopkeepers of the summer towns we all know close their doors to close their summer at the end of September, a famous village in the south of France leaves its doors open until the last weekend of October to make way for the traditional Grande Braderie de Saint-Tropez.
For almost 30 years, during 3 days, the shopkeepers of the city of Tropez who are members of the "Esprit Village" association take over the sidewalks and shake up their shelves to offer a last summer window shopping.
The big boutiques like Prada, Gucci, Chanel and Zadig & Voltaire but also the independent boutiques organize their biggest discounts on fashion, accessories and decoration. You will be able to "crack" on each stand at every corner and leave satisfied!
The Grande Braderie 2022 is much more than a simple event, it is a real effervescence of customers who enjoy coming back to Saint-Tropez, taking advantage of shopping for the end of the year and finding the rare pearl at the best price. Its access is totally free.
The Agency's little tips
How to dress: Shopping means fitting, so it's best to plan an outfit that's easy to remove and comfortable shoes to last all day (because yes, you'll be walking a lot.)
What accessories to take: It is the end of October. Even if we are used to the sun and the heat, we must not forget that the rain can fall at any time. So, bring an umbrella in case of bad weather, without forgetting your wallet of course.
How to get there : Let's be clear, there is only one way to avoid traffic jams : the boat. Note that the Bateaux Verts offer departures every half hour from Sainte-Maxime, and every hour from Cogolin and Grimaud.
Other solutions, but by road: the car, the bus(www.varlib.fr), or choose to go on an excursion organized by your city. For example, the cities of Marseille and Hyères are organizing this excursion for Saturday, October 29, 2022. Do not hesitate to ask your city hall for more information.
For the most courageous, there is still the bicycle solution! The cycle track that runs along the seaside and leads to Saint-Tropez is very pleasant! You will have the possibility to rent a bike or a scooter on the spot, many shops around Saint-Tropez rent them.
You are going to look for a place to park: There are of course several paying parking lots (Parking du port, du 15ème Corps, Foch or des Lices), but in addition to being expensive, they may also be full.
To avoid this, take a little height by going up to the Citadel, then go down towards the marine cemetery and the Graniers beach. All the spaces leading to this beach are free and unregulated. Other free parking spaces are also available towards the "Moulin Blanc" college. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the center.
The best thing for you to do is to park outside Saint-Tropez.
Or arrive very early in the morning in Saint-Tropez to have a chance to park as close to the village as possible, you can take advantage of it to have breakfast on the terrace on the port.
For breakfast, go to the Tarte Tropézienne, where you will find a lot of fresh pastries without breaking the bank! We also recommend Gustaveur, Cyril Lignac and Aux Deux Frères bakeries. You can also eat at the Bar du Port, Café de Paris or Sénéquier on the port, where you will find a complete and quality breakfast formula.
For lunch, we recommend parking at the free parking lot near the Bouillabaisse beach and having lunch across the street, where a wide choice awaits you that will appeal to all tastes: Papy Burger, offering a variety of options, burgers, pasta and omelets; Kyoto offers sushi and Thai cuisine; or Kaja, the menu declines signature poké bowls or poké to compose yourself. For those who prefer to stay close to the Port of Saint-Tropez, we recommend Les Halles (at the entrance of the port parking lot), where you will find several food trucks and a wide variety of dining options.
For those who can't come to the Saint-Tropez street sale, the shopping week is coming from October 31st to November 6th 2022. You will find the continuity of the bargains of the big sale.
